| PHP | 7.4+ |
| WooCommerce | 5.0+ |

The Stokkap plugin is free and lightweight. It acts as the bridge between your WooCommerce store and the Stokkap inventory management app.
Step 1 - Sign in to Stokkap
Start by signing in to your Stokkap account. You'll need an active account with valid credentials.
Go to my.stokkap.app
Open my.stokkap.app in your browser and sign in with your email address and password.
Once signed in, you'll be taken to the Stokkap dashboard. If you haven't connected a store yet, you'll see a prompt to download and install the WordPress plugin.
Step 2 - Install the WordPress plugin
After signing in, Stokkap will prompt you to download the free WordPress plugin. This plugin connects your WooCommerce store to Stokkap.
Download the plugin
Click the download button on the Stokkap dashboard to get the plugin .zip file.
Upload to WordPress
In your WordPress admin, go to:
Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin
Choose the .zip file you downloaded, click "Install Now", and wait for the installation to complete.
The Stokkap plugin will also be available from the WordPress plugin directory soon. Once listed, you'll be able to search for "Stokkap" directly in Plugins → Add New Plugin.
Step 3 - Activate the plugin
Once installed, you need to activate the plugin before it can connect to Stokkap.
Activate Stokkap Connect
In your WordPress admin, go to:
Plugins → Installed Plugins
Find "Stokkap Connect" in the list and click "Activate".
On activation, you'll see a notice at the top of the page prompting you to connect your store to Stokkap. This is expected - follow the next step to complete the connection.
Step 4 - Connect your store
Now it's time to link your WooCommerce store to your Stokkap account. The connection is initiated from within the plugin.
Open the plugin dashboard
In your WordPress admin, go to:
Stokkap → Dashboard
Click the "Connect Store" button. If you're already signed in to Stokkap in your browser, it will detect your session automatically.
Name your store and connect
You'll be asked to give your store a name. This is how it will appear in the Stokkap dashboard - useful if you manage multiple WooCommerce sites. You can change this later.
On success, you'll be redirected back to your WordPress admin with a confirmation message. In the background, your store will immediately begin syncing.
The connection uses WooCommerce's built-in REST API authentication. Stokkap never stores your WordPress login credentials.
Step 5 - Initial sync
Once connected, Stokkap will automatically begin a full sync of your WooCommerce products in the background.
Automatic product sync
Your products, variations, stock levels, SKUs, barcodes, prices, and images will all sync automatically. You don't need to do anything - just let it run.
- All simple and variable products are synced
- Stock quantities, SKUs, and barcodes are imported
- Product images and pricing data are pulled in
- Future changes sync automatically via webhooks and scheduled syncs
The initial sync time depends on how many products you have. Most stores complete within a few minutes. You can start using Stokkap features like barcode scanning and stock adjustments as soon as products begin appearing.
Once the sync is complete, all core features are unlocked:
- Multi-location stock tracking
- Barcode scanning from any device
- Stocktakes with scan or count sheet mode
- Stock transfers between locations
- Full audit trail and activity logging
- Staff access with granular permissions
What's next
Your store is connected and your products are syncing. Here are the recommended next steps:
- Set up your locations - Add your shop floor, warehouse, back room, or any other locations where you keep stock.
- Invite your team - Add staff members and set their permissions so they can check and update stock.
- Run your first stocktake - Use scan mode to walk around and count stock, or print a count sheet for traditional counting.
- Try barcode scanning - Open Stokkap on your phone and scan a product barcode to see it in action.
- Enable Product Lookup - Scan barcodes and search products directly from the WordPress admin toolbar.
- Review plugin settings - Configure webhooks, stock settings, and optional features.
